Spinning Wheels & an (old) FO
These are my two 'babies'. One lives at Seldom Seen, and the other travels with me wherever I go:
My Kromski Minstral spinning wheel (and a lamp that has aspirations to be a spinning wheel someday to the right).
"I miss you, Baby. I'll come visit soon."
And my 'folds up into a cool carry case, follow me everywhere', Louet Victoria S95 (and Dog, who thinks every picture taken is a photo op for her)
And THIS is what I finished knitting about this time last year, just in time to wear while I went out and BOUGHT my two pretty babies, and fiber to feed them...
Pretty, yes?
Made with Knitpicks Ambrosia, it's soft and warm and stays put around my shoulders without buttons or pins. Faroese (sp?) style, and a Riff on Knitting Daily's Summer Shawlette pattern. I call it My April Rain Shawl.

Nice wheels and shawl. Do you remember what the pattern is?
@kerowynsmom - Thank you!
The pattern is a take off of two of Knitting Daily's free patterns. You need to sign up for their newsletter to access them, but it's free to do so. Their patterns were:
http://www.knittingdaily.com/blogs/patterns/archive/2007/06/04/comfort-shawl.aspx
http://www.knittingdaily.com/blogs/patterns/archive/2007/05/17/summer-shawlette.aspx
I didn't follow their patterns, really, other than get the basic gist for the neck band and shoulder shaping. Instead I did plain stockinette until the majority of the shoulder shaping was done, and then I knit a row of the lace motif from the top back neck, and then a couple plain rows, and then the lace motif row again, only staggered. Then I did a couple more plain rows, then a row with YO's between each lace motif. After I purled back I did another row of YO's staggered. After that I just did a series of "YO, K3" , staggered every other row. I kept their seed stitch border on each edge, and purled back every other row to keep it in stockinette lace. And finished it up with a seed stitch bottom, and cast off loosely in seed stitch. Sorry, not really a pattern, but as close as I can remember to what I did. Mostly I just made it up as I went along. I think I used 6 balls of yarn. Does any of that help?
@mrsCWmouse - Ahhh...so in other words, wing it. ;)
@kerowynsmom - LOL! Ah-yup. Pretty much. *grins* Sorry I couldn't be more help. Guess I'll never be a pattern writer.
